Hundreds came this morning to show their respect and stand for one minute of silence in Remembrance.
My Aunt was the Silver Cross Mother this year and laid a wreath on behalf of all mothers who have lost a child in a war. It is an honour to be chosen, and many Legions have started to choose mothers who’s child has served but, not necessarily been lost, because there are not many mothers left from previous conflicts alive and fortunately not many were lost recently as there might have been.
It was amazing to share in Remembrance in my small hometown this year and to witness this honour my Aunt was given.
Lest We Forget
